Dental Implants: Restore Your Smile and Overall Oral Health

Missing teeth can severely impact your ability to eat, speak, and smile, limiting your quality of life. To restore your smile after tooth loss, Dr. Nick M. Mobilia can place, restore, and coordinate dental implants treatment at his Midtown Manhattan, New York, office. These small, titanium posts are surgically placed in your jaw to provide superior support for dental crowns, bridges, and dentures. The implant posts also help maintain the health of your jaw, preventing bone recession. Contact Elite Dental Arts to find out if you are a candidate for implants.

What Are Dental Implants?

Implants are small, metal posts that are surgically placed in your jawbone to replace lost tooth roots. The posts are made of biocompatible titanium, and fuse with bone tissue through a process called osseointegration, becoming permanently fixed in your jaw. Implants can support restorations such as crowns, bridges, and dentures. Dr. Mobilia only places mini implants, which are smaller than traditional implants. If you require traditional posts, he will refer you to a trusted oral surgeon and oversee every step of your treatment.

Dental Implants provide exceptional stability and durability.

The number of dental implants you receive depends on the number of teeth you are replacing, and the restoration you require. One post can support a crown, two or more a bridge, and up to several implants are used to uphold a full denture. You can also undergo the specialized All-on-4® technique, which can provide you with a full denture that is supported by only four dental implants.

Our office provides quality, customized restorations to restore your dental implants. Additionally, Dr. Mobilia proudly offers the Prettau® Implant Bridge. This full-arch restoration is widely considered the gold standard in implant dentistry. The bridge is made of zirconia, an advanced form of dental porcelain. Zirconia is very strong and durable, allowing it to last longer and resist chipping. The material is also highly lifelike, and can provide completely natural-looking restorations.

The Dental Implant Process

Before your implant surgery, Dr. Mobilia will use advanced SIMPLANT® software to plan your procedure. With 3-D imaging, he can determine the best positions for the posts, as well as the correct implant length and diameter. If he decides that mini implants are right for you, he can perform the surgery himself. If you receive traditional implants, he will refer you to an oral surgeon. However, Dr. Mobilia will still stay involved throughout the procedure, overseeing your surgery and recovery process.

Once your implants are in place, Dr. Mobilia can often provide an immediate, short-term restoration. This temporary restoration will be far more stable than any traditional, removable prosthesis. You will typically then spend three to six months healing after implant placement. Once your implants and bone have knit together, Dr. Mobilia will attach your permanent restoration. Fabricated from advanced materials, your new teeth will be a near-perfect match to your smile.

Because dental implants become permanently fixed in your jaw, they are able to provide unparalleled support to restorations. You will be able to eat, speak, and smile with complete confidence that your restoration will neither shift nor slip.

Why Choose Dental Implants?

Dental implants offer benefits for your health and smile that are unrivaled by traditional treatments for tooth loss. Because implant posts become permanently fixed in your jaw, they are able to provide unparalleled support to restorations. You will be able to eat, speak, and smile with complete confidence that your restoration will neither shift nor slip. The implants also replace lost tooth roots, sending out regenerative signals. These signals halt bone loss that is otherwise unavoidable after tooth loss.

Your preserved jaw will retain its shape, preventing shifting in remaining teeth and the sunken, aged look associated with missing teeth. Your restoration will also be highly lifelike. We only use the best of materials, and your restoration will sit along the gum line, blending with the rest of your smile, and filling out your natural facial features. You can also enjoy the advanced, highly lifelike aesthetics of Prettau® zirconia.
