What Are Veneers?
Veneers are thin porcelain shells that attach to the front of your teeth. Dr. Mobilia can attach veneers to one tooth or several teeth, matching them to your surrounding smile. Because porcelain veneers completely cover your teeth, they are extremely versatile. Dr. Mobilia may recommend this treatment to address:
- Stains and discoloration
- Unusually shaped teeth
- Worn teeth
- Cracks or chips
- Small gaps between teeth
- Minor misalignment
Are Veneers Right for You?
If you wish to cover minor to moderate aesthetic blemishes, veneers may be the solution. To qualify for treatment, you must have enough enamel for the preparatory steps. We offer highly personalized treatment, and Dr. Mobilia can often work around dental erosion and other problems. However, if your teeth have significant structural damage, he can recommend necessary restorative treatment, or an alternative cosmetic procedure that is more appropriate for you. He will always focus on your health and dental function before improving aesthetics.
Planning, Fabrication, and Placement
The beginning of the veneers process begins with a detailed mockup. Dr. Mobilia uses digital imaging to take precise scans of your teeth. He will then create an example of how your veneers will look by using a temporary resin directly on your teeth. He can also use a mounted model and digital imaging to provide a simulation of what to expect. You can work with him to design your veneers to meet your goals and fit your treatment plan. Dr. Mobilia will also be sure to take detailed photos of your smile from every angle so that the veneers will blend in all aesthetic aspects. With his detail-oriented process, he can ensure a natural look, not only for your teeth, but for your lips and gums, as well.
We work with high-end facilities that use computerized milling technology and advanced IPS e.max® porcelain. Your restoration will be of the highest quality and appearance.
After the initial design is finished, Dr. Mobilia will gently prepare your tooth by removing a small amount of enamel. This process will make more room for the porcelain, so that it will lay flat against your teeth. Dr. Mobilia will then take highly accurate impressions, which he will send, along with your custom designs, to our trusted dental lab to make your veneers. We work with a high-end facility that uses computerized milling technology and advanced IPS e.max® porcelain. Your restoration will be of the highest quality and appearance.
It usually takes about two weeks to create your veneers, during which time you will wear temporaries. However, we can also do rush orders in as few as three days. When the veneers are back in our office, Dr. Mobilia will make sure that they fit correctly, and do not affect your bite. After any necessary adjustments, he will secure your veneers to your teeth, and you can leave our office with a revitalized smile. With proper care, veneers can last for up to ten years.
